It started when a video clip, showing two male teenagers beat an old man in an Elderly Nursing Home after they were caught stealing, went viral online.
Via “Human Flesh Search” organized by the angry netizens, the identities of two suspected post-90s teens were uncovered, as well as the elderly nursing home (in a town in Jiangsu Province) where the beating occurred.
With rumors online that one of the two suspects challenged netizens to not make apologies but to beat an elderly woman next time, furious netizens called to hunt for them.
The two were labelled as “BOSS” (referring to the powerful boss enemy in the video games who only appears at the end of a stage or level) by netizens, and a boss battle was called online too.
On April 4, a video footage re-posted to Mop, a popular online community, displayed to netizens that the battle has taken place.
In the town where the two guys, responsible for beating the old man, live, several dozens of youngsters, mainly students as alleged, group beat them violently.
The online activists who called to uphold justice may feel uplifted now, but such a move of countering violence by violence is obviously wrong. Check out the video.
