There is an update about the recent rumor that Hong Kong actress Karena Lam (林嘉欣) announced retirement. According to insiders, Karena Lam’s eight-year contract with her company Filmko (星皓) expired at the end of last year, and she was confirmed to have quit the entertainment circle. However, on Aug 19, Filmko made an official response, saying that Karena Lam did not quit the entertainment industry, and instead she still works with Filmko in a new way. It was reported that the reason Karena Lam was absent from the promotional events for her movie Don Quixote (唐吉可德) was that she is currently studying abroad. But Lam will show up to meet the audience in the movie premiere.

Hong Kong actress Karena Lam (林嘉欣) has quit showbiz and is planning to return to Canada and live with her mom and dad.
The 31-year-old finished filming and promoting Lover’s Discourse and the 3D movie Don Quixote at the end of last year.
She decided to call it quits when her contract was not renewed.
Karena fired her assistant and is currently studying in France according to a Sina.com report.
Born in Canada, the singer-actress made her debut in Taiwan at the tender age of 15.
Her first feature film, July Rhapsody, propelled her to stardom and she grabbed Best Newcomer and Best Supporting Actress awards at both the HKFA and Golden Horse Awards.
