Gaokao examinee kills himself for being rejected to enter the examination room

Annual national college entrance exam (or Gaokao) began on June 7 this year, but in Longhui County (隆回县), a tragedy happened to a student from the County’s No. 2 Middle School that day.

According to the posts from Sina and Tencent weibo (microblog), in the morning of June 7, an examinee from No. 2 middle school of Longhui County, Hunan Province killed himself by jumping from the 6th floor of the dormitory building, after he was rejected to enter the examination room for being late for 15 minutes. Local public security, health, and education authorities arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the report, but the student died at the hospital because he was seriously injured.

However, the time that the police received the suicide report, based on the local official media’s statements, was at 8:57 am. Since the first exam (Chinese Exam) in the morning started at 9:00 am, it was not possible that the student killed himself for being 15 minutes late for the examination which would prohibit any student entering the examination room to take exam according to the Gaokao rule.
