The Threesome Gate Girl Detained for 25 Days for the Crime of Group Licentiousness

In the early March, a sex video featuring two men and one girl having sex was exposed online and aroused heated discussions for a long time. The girl was identified as an 18-year-old sophomore majoring in Hotel Management from Houjie Specialized Technical School, and the two men are allegedly the out-of-school youth. On the Internet, this matter was called Threesome Gate (双飞门) or Technical School Gate (技校门, 职校门).

Upon this video, the girl’s parents and school authority have ever asserted that the girl, surnamed Li, must have been intoxicated with some unknown drink or drug. However, in the two months, this girl was accused of group licentiousness (聚众淫乱), and was detained by the police for 25 days. Though now Li has been bailed out by her family, she has to wait for the court to instituate the public prosecution against her. According to the police, Li engaged in this kind of “sex game” at her own will, and wasn’t under any coercion. And there was a boy saying in his statement too that the girl often called men to play this game.

Due to many reasons, the suspect’s family did not make any response to the media, but saying that the matter has been troubling their family for a long time, and they hoped it will end soon. “We now only have to wait the case to be heard by the court to know the final result.”

Since the reporters could not have any more details from Li’s parents, the reporters contacted one of their relatives. The relative said the local police came to the girl’s home after the matter was exposed by the media. “In the end, on May 25 she was detained for the crime of group licentiousness.”

Later the girl’s family made efforts to bail out her after 25 days. And in the same day, the man who was on the scene specially taking the video was bailed out too.

Li’s family ever disclosed that in exchang for bailing out their daughter, they had to let the man be bailed out too. “There has been a saying that because we took initiative to report the news to the media too, it defaced some revelant departments. That’s why our girl was detailed later.”

“In the beginning we firstly reported the case to the police, and we are the victims. And our daughter is a less than 18 years old student. How come she became the suspect at last?”

“Now she is waiting at home for the court to hear the case, and bears a great pressure. If she will be sentenced for the group licentiousness, we won’t accept.”

Yesterday, when facing the media, the local police declined to tell more too. But they confirmed that it is true the girl has been detained. According to police, in the middle of March, they have taken back six men to investigate, among whom were the men that Li had sex with, and the men who took video and spread the video.

But at the moment, how the other men were treated is still unknow, except for the man who took the video.

Last Nov., the wife swapping case that happened in Nanjing was exposed. And 22 persons that were involved in the case have been sentenced for the group licentiousness, including the organizer Ma Yaohai, a professor of Nanjing university. They became the first group of people that were convicted for the crime of group licentiousness in 20 years in China.

During the time, the famous female sociologist and sex expert always called to cancel the group licentiousness law, because the activity is based on mutual willingness. This saying aroused the intense reactions. Some supported her opinions and some others not.

But on the matter of “Technical School Gate”, the dictor of Guangdong Mingzhi Law Office said it will be unconvincing if the girl is to be sentenced. After all, she is only 18 years old, and we should educate her instead.

The layer of Guangdong Guanxin Law Office however had a different viewpoint. He thinks it is reasonable for the public security authority to detain the suspects in advance if they’ve got the details of the case. This is to prevent the suspects from engaging in the acts like fleeing, confession in collusion, or others.
