Filed under : Buzz News, General

News from Xinhuanet: The antenna at the top of Oriental Pearl Tower, located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, Shanghai, caught fire at around 2 a.m. on April 13. The fire has been extinguished, and no casualties were reported.

Since there were thunder and lighting in the area, it is likely that the antenna was hit by the lighting. After the fire, firefighters quickly responded to it. And thanks to the rain during that time, the fire was put off in a hour. The police authority of Pudong, Shanghai said, the fire didn’t cause casualties, or damage to the construction of Oriental Pearl Tower.

Now, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
