A couple of days ago, a parent of a student from a primary school in Zunyi City (遵义市), Guizhou Province (贵州省), accidentally came across workers delivering vegetables to the school’s cafeteria, on the way he sent his child to the school. He was shocked to find that these were all rotten vegetables.
The angry parent then blocked all the vegetables and piled in front of the primary school for all others to know. It immediately caused outrage among hundreds of parents of students. They gathered in fron of the school and blocked the road, to denounce the shcool’s inhumane behaviors.
In order to calm down the angry parents, like any other case that happened in China, the local bureau of education soon announced to dismiss the school’s Principal and suspend operation of the cafeteria.
But is it the solution to root out the problem? Any governmental department and officials to supervise the matter? Are they not responsible to the case? I assure that even though there were officials who came to check the quality of the school food as regulated, they did it as a mere formality and had prepared beforehand, because money under the table always talks!
