According to a news published by Yubei police in Chongqing city on January 29, 2012, a newborn girl was found discarded in a trash bin at a roadside by passers by, and the police now are looking for her parents.
The passers by first heard the cry of a baby on a street in Yuebei District, Chongqing, and then discovered the baby in a trash bin by tracing down the cry, at 8 am, Jan. 28.
The police arrived at the scene after receiving the report, and rushed the discarded newborn to the hospital immediately after seeing her badly frozen in the cold wind and very weak. The baby girl was still with the umbilical cord linking to the placenta, and dressed in a pink sweater and coat.
The baby is out of danger now, according to the hospital. But she needs to stay in the hospital for further treatments as the baby is still weak. The relief station of Yubei District agreed to bear the treatment costs of the discarded baby, after the local police reached them.
The girl’s placenta has been sent to the official agency for forensic identification, in the hope to find her birth parents through DHA testing.
