A Nude Woman Photographed and Shown on Google Map Arouse Privacy Worries
It is the second time I head that Google Map captured nude women. Last time, it was about a woman basking under the sunshine naked in her balcony, which had sparked intensive controversy. Again this time, Google Street Map spotted a naked woman in Hualian, Taiwan, on March 12, 2010 too. “It is too scary! Even though you are at home, you will be possibly photographed and photos will be spread on the Internet too. It seriously invades privacy!” Outcried netizens.
The initial intention of Google Map Service is to help people find the right directions, but it aslo causes trouble as it captures something it should have not captured. This nude photo is an example.
The photo was initially posted in PPT BBS (台大论坛), but 2 hours later, it was deleted by the forum administrators when they noticed of it.
According to a media reporter who interviewed the woman’s neighbor, she is 50-something years old, and has mental disorder. She was ever living in one sanatorium, but her family has taken her home to look after.
Many netizens condomned Google Map service, and expressed that the woman should go sue Google. Google has obscured the image though, when they learned the news about it.
